My name is Javier Cruz Hernández. I’m from La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico and I work at the Instituto Politécnico Nacional. I’m studying the distribution and abundance of copepods in mesoscale eddies in the Gulf of California and Mexican Pacific. During this expedition, I'm going to work with zooplankton (bongo nets) between 0 and 200 m depth to identify copepods. This is my first time on the R/V Ronald H. Brown. This trip is very interesting to me; I like to study copepods because they are very important in the marine ecosystem.
